About Us
Digital Sight is based in Pleasanton CA and flies out of KVL Livermore and HWD Hayward, California.
We use digital and medium format photo equipment to provide you with exceptionally sharp detail and flexible usage options. All shots are taken with a Ken-Labs K-6 gyro to insure image sharpness.
Factors such as altitude, time of day, and shot angles have a significant effect on the images we capture. For example, relatively high altitude images provide a sufficient field of view to record distinguishing features such as roads, stone walls, fences, and other landmarks.
Lower altitude perspectives would not include such features, however much more detail will be available enabling you to view such features as building details and landscaping.
Time of day is also important, especially if you have a property you want to emphasize.
Pre-Flight Check List
All aerial assignments are preceded by a comprehensive pre-shoot interview and an on-site inspection when possible. The information we gather is used to prepare a checklist for our pilots and photographers who work together in order to meet the objectives of each assignment.
Once a location has been identified, we will provide you with a layout of the shoot showing angles, heights and the extends of the image we will photograph.
This provides you with our understanding to what you want to see. It allows us to fine tune all of the angles and view corridors before we fly.
When your assignment is completed, we will post the images to our server in a slide show format allowing you to see what we captured. Within two days, you will receive a DVD with your images. On average, we will provide 20-50 color-balanced, horizon straighten images of your site in a JPG format.
Scheduling
While we make every attempt to complete each assignment in a timely manner, the primary rule which we follow strictly is "safety always comes first". We do not fly in inclement weather with restricted visibility or if wind speeds are excessive.
